1. What is the quickest way to get started?

Work through the built in tutorial which quickly takes you through the essentials so that you can start productively using the application. To start the tutorial select the menu command: Help -> Tutorial.

2. How do I create a custom notation font?

Rather than start from scratch, copy one of the standard supplied fonts e.g. Avrella Standard Type 1 (Filename: AvrellaStdType1.ttf) to the name of your new font file and use a font software package to design your individual musical notation font. (For more detailed instructions refer to the integrated Avrella application help. Contents -> How To -> Create Custom Notation Fonts.)

3. Do you have a selection of sample scores available apart from the few distributed with the Avrella program?

Currently no. However building up a library of avrella scores for download is something that we are interested in and would welcome any contributions from our user base. (Please bear in mind that any submissions must not be covered by copyright.)

4. What is the current version of Avrella?

The current release is 1.08.

Support - Tablature FAQ

1. How do I manually enter tablature?

1. How do I manually enter tablature? (i.e. you have not set Auto so that the tablature is automatically associated with the musical notation on the staff above)

Simply put the cursor on the "tab string" that you want to place a number on and press the appropriate keyboard number. To enter a double digit value greater than 9, hold the shift key down and press the first figure. Release the shift key and then press the second figure. Thus to enter 14 - hold the shift key down - press 1. Release the shift key and press 4.
